As part of my intention in coming to Ireland was to be more social, I stayed at a friendly hostel on a hilltop overlooking scenic Bantry. I went to a couple of pubs, but didn't get the Irish pub experience I was looking for. Lots of smoke, sports on the TV's and no live music.
