This is part way up Puy Mary (1787M) at the southern end of the Parc Nautrel Régional des Volcans d'Auvergne. Translation, a beautiful national park full of volcanoes, forrests lakes, small mountain towns, and some of the cheapest cheese in France. There's also a Route du Fromage that passes through here, I was on it for a while, but my French wasn't good enough to understand it. I did however eat a lot of good cheese.
